5 Reasons To Stay at Breathless Cancun Soul Resort
If you’re looking for a sparkling new all-inclusive Cancun resort that caters to adults, look no further. Breathless Cancun Soul Resort has all the amenities you’re looking for at a convenient location just north of the Cancun hotel zone. I recently enjoyed a fantastic Christmas vacation with my husband at this amazing resort. Here are my top 5 reasons why I recommend this resort.
1. It’s brand new!
The Breathless Cancún Soul Resort opened in December 2021 and welcomed many sun seekers eager to get back to Cancun. The decor of this adults-only resort is sleek, neutral, and sophisticated. Beautiful creations from local artists are displayed throughout the lobby. The resort is well maintained with staff frequently cleaning the bathrooms and common areas. We also noticed the seaweed being cleaned up each morning on the beach but not at some of the other resorts. There are two towers – one for the more active party crowd and the XHale tower for a quieter, more exclusive experience.
2. Our XHale benefits
When I first read the reviews, I was a little hesitant to book this resort because of the “party vibe” and loud music comments. But several recent guests recommended upgrading to an XHale room for the amenities and to avoid the loud music. We wanted to check out this new resort, so we booked an XHale oceanfront room. It was blissfully quiet in the XHale tower. We enjoyed the private rooftop pool, exclusive breakfast area, and complementary spa hydrotherapy treatment session. Check-in was super smooth. The bellhop took our luggage when we pulled up to the entrance and we were escorted to the XHale lounge to check in.
Heads up: The VIP desk agent will give you a brief rundown of your resort benefits but will also give a gentle sales pitch about the World of Hyatt VIP Club.
3. Our luxurious XHale oceanfront room
An XHale Lounge staff member escorted us up our room and gave us an orientation. The technology was amazing! There were 1) light controls that included mood lighting options, 2) digital control panel for A/C, ceiling fan, and temperature, 3) TV screen embedded in the vanity mirror, 4) tablet that controlled the lights, contained resort info, and allowed you to order room service, maintenance, and housekeeping. It was a bit overwhelming to be honest!
The oceanfront view was breathtaking, especially while enjoying a drink in the balcony hot tub. The bathroom had double vanities, a rain shower, and generous bath amenities including bath salts for the hot tub. The king bed was very comfortable with a generous supply of pillows. I used the tablet to order a goose feather pillow just because I could 🙂
Our shower drain blocked up one morning and was promptly unclogged by housekeeping. We smushed a single cockroach but did not see any other bugs during our stay.
The complimentary minibar included beer, juices, soda, a Nespresso machine (my favorite part), snacks, and a martini bar. Everything was generously replenished each day.
Tip: Keep the balcony door closed to make sure the the A/C stays on in the room.
4. The wide variety of unlimited food and drink
Is it terrible to highlight the festively decorated Spoons Restaurant brunch buffet as our favorite dining experience? It had so many options! Even my health nut husband thought this was the best venue. There were made to order eggs, crepes, and chilaquiles stations, protein drinks and power bowls, breads, pastries, fruit, meat dishes, side dishes, and so much more! We ate the XHale private breakfast dining area in the Silk Restaurant once but preferred the variety of the Spoons Restaurnat brunch buffet.
Our favorite dinner experience was in the Silk Asian restaurant. The food was wonderful – best edamame I ever had! We also had the miso soup, spicy & sweet shrimp soup, and Donburi rice bowls with shrimp and Korean wings. We also enjoyed our favorite Breathless drink at the Silk Restaurant – the Geisha Martini. What pushed this venue to the top of our list were the panoramic views of the Cancun Bay and ocean from the XHale tower rooftop. Dinner is open to all guests at the Silk Restaurant.
Our least favorite dining experience was in Fish Nets. The service was great, but we were expecting more seafood items on the menu. There were more steak options than seafood! My husband did not enjoy the New York strip steak. My crabcake was more cake than crab. The seafood cream and fried provolone dishes were good.
Tip: Make sure and check the restaurant operating hours on your room tablet. Not all restaurants are open every day. We missed out on Kibbeh, the Mediterranean restaurant because we didn’t check the schedule.
5. The warm and accommodating service
The resort staff members were always cheerful, prompt, and helpful. We were always warmly greeted wherever we went and asked if there was anything we needed. Service requests were promptly answered after a call to the front desk or order from the room tablet.
Tip: Ask for Vanessa in the spa when booking your hydrotherapy treatment – she is amazing!
