Hello!

I’m Leah Goerke – the owner and operator of Escape the Nest Travel, Certified Travel Association (CTA), International Air Transport Association (IATA) Travel Agent, member of the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) and Virtuoso member.

And I’m an empty nester too!

My daughter and son are all grown up and flew the coop at 18. They live in different cities and have careers of their own. It was so hard for me to let my “little ones” go but our mutual love of traveling helped all of us make this difficult transition. Traveling has been a special part of our family travel tradition for over 30 years. We’ve traveled all over the Caribbean, Europe, Hawaii, South America, Alaska, Galapagos, Philippines, Australia and New Zealand on phenomenal vacations.

I’ve also learned that traveling as an empty nester with my husband, girlfriends, or just by myself is filled with a whole new set of joys and freedom. I no longer am tied to the school schedule or kids’ activities and events. I can take advantage of off season travel when crowds are lighter and costs are lower.
