My Story
When my son Alex left for college, I was crushed. My baby boy, my pride and joy, my last child was gone. Ashley left three years earlier, but nothing prepared me for an empty nest. The house was quiet, and my nest was very, very empty. My kids were never going to be coming home every night or asking for help with their homework. It was the most painful period of my life.
I was driving my husband Robert crazy “mothering him” those first few months. Our marriage had a big adjustment period as I worked my way through loneliness, boredom, and wondering what to do with all my time now that I wasn’t consumed with raising my two precious chicks.
So What Happened?
My friend Martha was going through the exact same thing. She went out on limb and asked two of us to take a cruise with her. It was my first step to healing my broken heart and becoming someone other than mom and wife. I found me again.
- * We were friends but became even closer friends after our trip.
- * I met Martha’s sister for the first time and we’ve become so close.
- * We saw so many sights, ate so much food, and triumphed in our first trip together.
We’ve been traveling together ever since with trips to Italy, Netherlands, France, Germany, and Greece.
My Life Changed!
That first invitation was so life changing for me that I decided to become a travel advisor. And now, many years later I’m:
